ABOUT OUTDOING

Free time shouldn’t need twelve tabs.

OutDoing brings events, classes and experiences from across the web into one clean, useful place.

The idea

Finding something to do is strangely hard. Good options are scattered across ticketing platforms, leisure-centre timetables, venue websites, community pages and social networks. OutDoing makes that mess feel more like a map: search once, compare clearly, then book with the original provider.

Starting local

The first trial is built for people in Cheltenham and Gloucester, with worthwhile events across roughly 30 km—including the Cotswolds, Stroud, Tewkesbury and Cirencester. We are testing whether a dense, carefully checked local catalogue is more useful than a thin national one.

What makes it different

  • One event, not five duplicates. Matching listings are merged and the best direct source is shown first.
  • Useful provenance. Labels distinguish direct organiser details, established platforms and community leads.
  • Comfort matters. Solo guidance helps people judge whether an event should feel easy to attend alone.
  • No ticketing trap. OutDoing does not currently sell tickets; it sends you to the organiser or booking provider.

Where it is going

The next stages are better event freshness, organiser submissions, useful weekly recommendations and—eventually—an API for other local products. Social tools may follow once the event catalogue is genuinely useful on its own.
