Who controls your information

Christopher Reeds, trading as OutDoing, is the data controller for information collected directly by OutDoing.

Use the Contact form and choose “Privacy or data request” if you want to exercise a data-protection right.

Information we use

• Future email signups: OutDoing does not currently offer public newsletter or developer-waitlist signup forms. If those forms open later, this notice will name the information collected, the consent wording and the email provider before anyone can subscribe.
• Contact reports: the report category, your reply email, message, and any optional event name or source link you provide.
• Organiser submissions: the event and organiser details you provide, your contact email, the official source link, and the time of submission. These stay in a private review queue and are not published automatically.
• Saved events: event identifiers saved only in your browser’s local storage.
• Approximate location: used only after you ask for “Near me.” The browser position is immediately rounded, used on your device to filter events, and is not retained or sent to OutDoing.
• Public-preview measurement: OutDoing counts visits, optional campaign labels supplied in standard UTM links, use of search and filter categories, listing opens, saves, booking-source clicks, feedback clicks and basic failures. The same short pseudonymous visitor code joins a campaign arrival to a listing open and onward source click. Search words, precise location and error-message contents are deliberately excluded.
• Approximate unique visitors: OutDoing sets one random first-party cookie to estimate returning visitors over the public-preview period. The resulting short pseudonymous code is not shared, cannot be used across other sites and is used only for aggregate visitor counts.
• Basic technical records: the hosting service may process request information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as an IP address, time and browser details.

Why we use it

Organiser contact details are used to review a submission and, when needed, clarify it with the organiser. Contact reports are used for the legitimate interests of correcting the catalogue, improving the service and replying to you. Public-preview measurements are used to understand whether the catalogue helps people find and act on plans, and to diagnose obvious failures. Privacy requests are handled to meet legal obligations. Essential technical records are used to operate and protect the service. OutDoing does not sell personal information or use these details for unrelated marketing.

Sharing and international transfers

OutDoing is hosted using OpenAI Sites. The OpenAI Privacy Policy ↗ explains how OpenAI processes personal information. The Fastmail Privacy Policy ↗ applies to the mailbox used for hello@outdoing.app. Booking platforms and organiser sites have their own privacy notices; information you give them is not controlled by OutDoing.

How long we keep it

Public-preview measurements, campaign labels and pseudonymous visitor codes are retained for up to 90 days to assess the prototype, then deleted. Organiser submissions and contact reports are kept only while they are needed for review, correction or a reply, and for no more than 12 months unless longer retention is needed for a legal request or dispute. Saved events remain in your browser until you remove them or clear site data.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law gives you rights to access, correct, erase or restrict your information, object to its use, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent. Use the Contact form and choose “Privacy or data request.” You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office ↗.

Children

The event catalogue can include family activities. Any future email signup will be intended for people aged 16 or over; OutDoing does not knowingly collect email signups from children.
